Job Summary

 

The Slate Communications Manager supports student communication deployment within the Technolutions Slate CRM, including all system communications features and external-facing portals. This role requires a high level of collaboration with and support to constituents in academic and administrative departments throughout Augusta University who are communicating enrollment and engagement actions to prospective and continuing students. The Manager serves as a primary support between Slate and its users, providing training, support, and guidance on student communication best practices and system functionality. General responsibilities include system-wide communications management, monitoring, and reporting with a focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of communications/information disseminated from Slate.

Responsibilities

 

The duties include, but are not limited to:

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT:

  • Collaborate with institutional partners and user groups to create and streamline student communications, including email, text, voice, and print campaigns.  
  • Advise on messaging content, cadence, and design to best serve client needs. 
  • Aid student communicators in choosing the best communication modality and system, aligning with institutional best practices and policy. 
  • Ensure compliance with institutional branding and imagery. 
  • Ensure timely delivery of information. 
  • Monitor key metrics, including deliverability analysis and effectiveness. 
  • Design and maintain internal and external-facing portals for a client-centered experience. 
  • Collaborate with other student communication system managers, such as myAugusta, to ensure message consistency. 

USER SUPPORT & TRAINING:

  • Serve as support and champion for all Slate users. 
  • Provide regular, in-depth training to users and maintain training resources available on demand. 
  • Communicate system enhancements and updates in non-technical terms and provide training and documentation on communication, template, and folder organization structure. 
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to understand communication/information needs and advocate for system enhancements to meet those needs. 
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including folder structure and template management, to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing. 

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION:

  • Develop, implement, and support the deployment of the Slate CRM to address the business needs of the university and its stakeholders. 
  • Configure and customize Slate communications and information-sharing strategies to meet high standards required for student and user experience. 
  • Document business requirements and translate them into system needs, including creating development plans and outcomes. 
  • Promote efficiency and accuracy by expanding Slate use for institutional and departmental communications to students. 

REPORTING & MAINTENANCE:

  • Create delivery and communication reports using relevant business analytics tools, ensuring they meet the needs of functional users. 
  • Maintain policies and organization for Slate Deliver, campaigns, templates, Slate Credits, and Portals. 

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Contribute to the overall success of Enrollment Management and Augusta University by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. 
  • Serve and actively engage on various institution, division, and unit committees to contribute to overall undergraduate student enrollment, retention, and success.

Required Qualifications

 

Bachelors degree from an Accredited College or University and 2 years experience in communications, marketing, advertising, information technology, college admissions, or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience in Higher Education.
Experience in communications design, CSS, or SQL.  
Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM.
Experience training system end-user.

  • Ability to execute change management principles, enabling effective adoption of new technologies and processes within the institution. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. 

ABILITIES

  • Ability to maintain knowledge of Augusta University policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of USG rules and regulations. 
  • Ability to plan and work independently. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 
  • Ability to maintain technical documentation and SOPs. 
  • Ability to explain complex information in clear, non-technical language. 
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and report on data trends related to communication metrics and campaign performance. 
  • Ability to become an adept user of Technolutions Slate CRM and its applications for information sharing. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain reports for ad-hoc reporting needs. 
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects, define objectives, and coordinate with team members to achieve goals. 
  • Ability to execute change management principles, enabling effective adoption of new technologies and processes within the institution. 

Shift/Salary/Benefits

 

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B10

Salary: $52,500.00/Annually-$65,600.00/Annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
