Summary

A Postdoctoral Associate position in synthetic chemistry is available in the TENG laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX), an interdisciplinary group using medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, and molecular cell biology for early-stage drug discovery efforts. The lab is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate with a proven track record in synthetic or medicinal chemistry to join our team and help push the boundaries of cancer research.The Postdoctoral Associate is expected to work in the Targeted Protein Degradation space.

Baylor College of Medicine typically follows similar to the NIH stipulated stipend guidelines for Postdoctoral Associates.

Job Duties

  • Complies with the intellectual property compliance requirements of the institute and laboratory.
  • Works honestly with any raw experimental data.
  • Designs practical synthetic routes for target molecules.
  • Delivers target molecules in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Documents and presents experimental results in a professional manner.
  • Contributes to the development of a laboratory culture that emphasizes urgency and scientific excellence.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or other relevant fields.
  • Strong ability to perform both self-directed and guided research.
  • Strong ability to successfully work as a member of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactively helps the team succeed - takes ownership of team-based tasks.
  • Organized with close attention to detail and strong time management skills.

Work Authorization Requirement:

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
