Job Description

Summary

Looking for a Research Technician to join King lab in Pediatrics Infectious Diseases department. We are a highly cooperative and motivated group studying the responses of bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cells in infection. Using murine infection modules, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques, we occupy a unique space i the intersection of genetics and immunology. Curios, committed, and driven individuals with excellent collaboration and communication skills are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be comfortable working with laboratory animals, blood, and tissue. Opportunities for independence and advancement commensurate with abilities.

Job Duties

  • General lab duties such as restocking supplies, autoclaving pipette tips, and maintaining freezers.
  • Standard molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, ELISA.
  • Animal work including mouse breeding, weaning, genotyping, bleeding, and dissection.
  • Organizing lab duties and antibody and animal inventories.
  • Ordering supplies.
  • Serving as a point of contact to neighboring labs, sales representatives, and the rest of the infectious disease division.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Work Authorization Requirement:
