Job Description
The University of Oklahoma’s College of Professional and Continuing Studies (PACS) invites applications for a full-time, renewable-term faculty position in Modern Languages for the Workforce at the assistant or associate professor level. We are seeking an innovative educator who is excited to teach online language courses and lead the development of a new, flexible language program serving PACS adult degree-completion students. This role includes teaching and providing academic leadership for the college’s language offerings, with a focus on interdisciplinary, applied, and accessible learning. With an anticipated starting date of August 8, 2026, the College of Professional and Continuing Studies invites applications from all interested and qualified parties. This position will join the College’s effort in offering online, undergraduate degrees. We are seeking a collaborative educator who is passionate about student success and committed to shaping curriculum that reflects PACS’s mission of expanding access to high-quality education for a wide range of adult learners. The successful candidate will teach courses, mentor faculty, and guide the ongoing development and improvement of modern language curricula across PACS programs.
We welcome applicants with expertise in American Sign Language or other spoken languages that can have a direct impact on the workforce in Oklahoma and the nation.
Position Highlights

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a language-related field (e.g., modern languages, linguistics, applied linguistics, ASL).
- Experience with teaching high-quality, innovative online language courses.
- Demonstrated ability to design or revise curriculum.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to collegial, collaborative work.
Preferences (Not Required):
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in a language-related field.
- Experience teaching in accelerated online formats (e.g. eight-week courses).
- Familiarity with learning outcomes assessment, program review, accreditation, and online education trends.
- Demonstrated commitment to respectful interactions with students, faculty, and staff.
