Job Description

To provide child care and instruction in a child care center; perform related work.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Child care and instruction.
• Provides input in planning and preparing developmentally-appropriate activities including art, music, and physical activities
• Implements activity plans.
• Monitors, observes, and interacts with children.
• Cares for the physical needs of children including feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and administering medications.
• Supervises field trips.
• Communicates with parents orally and in writing concerning needs, progress, and behavior of children.
• Maintains attendance, meal, and activity records.
• Assures a safe environment.
• Designs bulletin board and other displays.
• Assists with food preparation, service, and cleanup.
• Supervises student assistants.
• May perform custodial duties.


Minimum Qualifications

Some knowledge of:
• Normal development of children from six weeks to preschool age
• Methods used to teach pre-school children basic skills.

Experience:
• Reading and understanding written instructions.

Supplemental Information

The successful candidate will be required to:
• Pass an extensive background investigation before being hired into these positions.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, running, and climbing stairs.
