Job Description
Job Summary/Basic FunctionThe Logistics and Asset Specialist is responsible for managing the receiving, inventory tracking,
and delivery of packages, supplies, and equipment across campus. This role ensures efficient
services, warehouse organization, and accurate documentation of fixed assets while maintaining
exceptional customer service standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receive, pick up, unload, and verify accuracy of incoming shipments and deliveries.
• Update receiving records and maintain audit trails for all packages and equipment.
• Deliver packages, goods, supplies, and equipment to university departments.
• Provide front-line service at the pickup window to faculty, staff, departments, and contractors.
• Tag and document fixed assets; maintain and update the asset management system.
• Track and deliver capital equipment; ensure accurate inventory and proper documentation.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized logistics and storage spaces, including sweeping, mopping,
and restocking.
• Resolve issues related to incorrect, duplicate, and damaged shipments in collaboration with
university departments.
• Prepare internal and external reports, chargebacks, and accounting forms as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and delivery trucks safely and
responsibly.
• Attend annual professional development and training in logistics, asset tracking, and safety
procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or Technical Training Certification in a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in warehousing, inventory control, receiving, distribution, or customer
service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), inventory software, and
recordkeeping systems.
• Physical ability to lift heavy items, bend, stand, walk, and work indoors and outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license and experience operating delivery vehicles and forklifts.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and
in writing.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under minimal
supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to work professionally, collaboratively, and with integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in management, Business, or related field.
• Knowledge of package regulations, shipping logistics, and asset management systems.
• Experience working in a university or institutional Logistics/Mail Room setting.
