Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs. Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters. Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing. May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding. May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects.

Reporting to the ArtPlay Director, this curriculum-based position leads the design, coordination, and implementation of PreK-12 educational programs and partnerships that advance ArtPlay's mission to make the arts accessible and educationally meaningful. The Program Manager II builds and sustains relationships with schools, teaching artists, and community partners while ensuring that all educational initiatives align with academic standards and best practices in arts education. This position oversees programs such as Vocabby's World, Meet the Artist, MTA on the Road, AEIVA Field Trips and Immersions, Day in the Arts, Arts Integration Initiatives, Professional Development Workshops, and the Emerging Arts Educators Mentorship Program. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the Vocabby's World Early Childhood Literacy Program, overseeing curriculum development, teaching artist management, and program growth.
Direct all PreK-12 programming, including Meet the Artist, MTA on the Road, Day in the Arts, AEIVA Field Trips and Immersions, and other educational experiences.
Develop, implement, and evaluate arts-integrated learning experiences and professional development workshops aligned with Alabama Course of Study standards.
Collaborate with AEIVA, the Birmingham Museum of Art, and Jefferson County Schools as part of the Kennedy Center Partners in Education program.
Oversee ArtPlay's PreK-12 satellite programs and camps, ensuring instructional quality and community impact.
Maintain active membership and participation in local and national professional Educational and Arts-Integration Associations.
Recruit, interview, and select teaching artists and part-time personnel for assigned programs.
Design and conduct onboarding and training sessions for teaching artists, student workers, and contract staff.
Provide ongoing professional development to ensure effective, innovative instruction.
Serve as ArtPlay's educational liaison with local schools and community partners to schedule and manage all PreK-12 programs, field trips, and performances.
Coordinate logistics, scheduling, communication, and follow-up with schools and partners.
Collaborate with the ArtPlay Program Coordinator to complete administrative tasks, background checks, and event planning.
Maintain accurate records, participant databases, and statistical data for evaluation and reporting.
Manage program budgets, track expenses, and oversee procurement of materials.
Ensure timely processing of contracts, payments, and grant documentation.
Create and maintain arts-based curricula, lesson plans, and study guides for PreK-12 programs and camps.
Measure program success using surveys, feedback, and other evaluation tools; analyze data for improvement.
Ensure educational content aligns with learning objectives and ArtPlay's mission.
Represent ArtPlay and the UAB Center for the Arts at community and educational events.
Cultivate strong relationships within UAB and the greater Birmingham arts and education community.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to organize, promote, and execute assigned initiatives.
Support ArtPlay's broader programming efforts, including camps, classes, and special projects.
Perform other related duties as required to support ArtPlay's educational mission.

Salary Range: $51,270 - $60,000 (best offer and non-negotiable)
