UAB Callahan Eye is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to work in our Pharmacy Department. The Pharmacist performs a variety of duties, which require special skills and knowledge in the various aspects of hospital pharmacy. A primary function of this position is the preparation, distribution, and control of medications that are used within the hospital and/or dispensed for use outside the hospital. Other responsibilities include those related to drug information, inventory control, and supervision of ancillary pharmacy personnel.

General Responsibilities

Provides quality patient care for the needs of the populations served and age specific groups as indicated: pediatric (>1 – 12 years), adolescent (>12 – 17 years), adult (>17 – 65 years), and geriatric (>65 years).
Ability to take calls during pharmacy after hours.
Ability to work rotating weekends.

Qualifications
Requirements

Current pharmacy license in the State of Alabama with no record of licensure revocation or suspension.
At least one-year hospital experience preferred.
BLS certification required by the end of employee provisional period.
Must maintain required certifications.
